Participating Churches Group Pairs Frequently Asked Questions
- How are groups going to find one another?
Once the small groups decide that they will be participating in the Easter Season of This is My Body, L.A., they have a few different options for finding a group to pair with: A. Use this web site: A representative of the group can come to this web site (the Group Pairs page) to let us know that they would like to be involved. Upon completion of the form on that page, the group will be added to a list of available groups. Starting March 1, all of the groups will return to this site to browse through the available groups and find one that might work. They will then contact that group and begin to form a relationship and decide of their days for gathering in the Easter season. B. Contact a group that they know: Some of the groups may have friends at another church that they would like to participate in This is My Body, L.A. with. If this is the case, and that group would like to participate, they may do so together. C. Call a church in their neighborhood: Some churches, who haven't yet heard about This is My Body, L.A., may be interested in participating in the group pairing. Groups may choose to call a church in their neighborhood or a church that they have a relationship with and invite them to join with them for the Easter season.
- When will resources be available?
Study guides and DVDs for both the pre-Easter and Easter seasons are now available. Visit the Resources page for details on how to order them.
- How can I order more study guides if we run out?
Study guides will be made available throughout the program. To order more, visit the Resources page.
- Should the groups in my church order the resources from us or directly from this web site?
Your church can choose to distribute the resources in whatever way is easiest. Some churches will choose to purchase all of the study guides and DVDs for their congregation and will subsidize the cost. Purchasing the resources up front is a great way to track how many groups from your church are participating in This is My Body, L.A.
- Can kids and youth participate?
The study guides for This is My Body, L.A. were designed for adult audiences, but the experience can be translated to the kids and youth as well. Get creative in how you involve your entire congregation: have the Sunday School classes write letters to missionaries as their outreach project; contact the children's ministry of one of the churches that are involved to see if you can share a project; or look through the study guide and adapt the material to make it age-appropriate for the kids.
